Space, Proportion, Emphasis/Dominance Suzanne

Out of the many images shot this week, I picked these three to illustrate seeing creatively the space, proportion and emphasis themes this week.  The first illustrating space shows two polar bears touching noses - the main subject, the mistletoe - a sort of mid ground and then the blue sky the background.  I find this image makes me smile as it signifies the importance of contact for both humans and animals and the introduction of mistletoe as a human tradition gives a bit of humor to the shot.


Proportion comes in many forms and for this one I liked the contrast of the fraying threads to the smooth surface of the ornament, as well as the contrasting colors.  Here again, space interacts with proportion with the frayed ends coming to the fore, the ornament being more mid ground and the negative space being the background.

Emphasis or dominance is a state of tension - in this case between the green glittery diamond shapes and the recessed red shinny ones.  Who likes which one best?
