Balanced Flash with Ambient Light -- Terri Perkins

I really loved the way George Washington's nose shined and was trying to capture that quality with my built in flash. This shot was taken in Manual Mode. I chose to put the f stop at 7.10 and played around with the shutter speed until I came up with something I liked. I covered my flash with 1ply tissue paper and turned it down to -3.0 and tried to direct the light with a white piece of paper to his nose (stronger flash was too much!). This lesson taught me what I really want for Christmas... An External Flash!!!

Nikon D90, Manual Mode, f/7.10, 1.00 sec., ISO 200, flash at ----3.0, white balance -- cool white fluorescent (w3900-4500k)
